The Train Set – Interview

 Having attended one of the first Shiiine On Festival weekenders when Manchester’s The High played, their lead singer John Matthews enthused about the band that were up on stage called The Train Set. Having never heard of the band we both stood at the front of the crowd, probably in and around about 50 odd people who were watching, I was impressed with the bands fluidity plus the stunning songs on show. This then prompted the Q&A with their fab tambourine shaking lead singer Clive Jones. This first appeared on Louder Than War 6.2.17: The Train Set are one of the truly great lost bands from the late 1980s. Having released stunning material and getting rave reviews in the weekly music papers of the time they suddenly went missing. They played along side Manchester heavyweights the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, James and played the legendary Manchester venue The Hacienda.
